KOLKATA: The start of the fourth day's play in the second and final Test between India and South Africa on Wednesday was delayed due to over night light rain.
South Africa, 1-0 up in the series, were six without loss in their second innings when play was called off early on the third day due to poor light.
India took a lead a of 347 after declaring on 643/6, with Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Vangipurappu Laxman and Mahendra Singh Dhoni all scoring centuries.
The umpires will inspect the ground again at 9:30 a.m. South Africa are bidding to win their first Test series in India for a decade, which will also reclaim the top ranking after the tourists won the opening Test in Nagpur by an innings.
